CORA'S WINE CLUB
Founded in New York City in 2022. Currently operating in four cities across three countries with over 100 members.
We meet monthly to taste wines, develop our palates, discover international terroirs, and share creative projects.
I’ve been honored to see this group expand. My focus is on cultivating community, sharing my love of wine, and introducing more young people to the often intimidating world of wine.
Meetings usually center a region of the world, where we do a deep dive into the terroir. I’m looking to host more literary salons and continue to connect my personal love for wine with my academic and literary career. We are always taking new members and looking to expand the creative potential of this group.

I got into wine as a college student, when I was conducting research into the wineries in Israeli settlements in the Occupied West Bank of Palestine. Wine is a key part of the mission of illegal settlement—settlers depend on the income brought in by wine and their expansive vineyards are emblematic of the land they’ve stolen from Palestinians.
I presented my work at the 2023 Middle Eastern Studies Association conference in Montreal. Starting this summer, I’ll also be hosting more talks on wine, settlement, and the current situation in Gaza.
As a club, we’re raising money for humanitarian aid in Gaza. We’ve raised over 500 USD. Click here to learn more and donate.
I remain immensely grateful for and humbled by my time living in Tel Aviv. End the genocide in Gaza and free Palestine.
GAZA FUNDRAISING
InTERNATIONAL CHAPTERS
We have chapters in Dublin, Madrid, New York, and Chicago. Each month, all four host a meeting with the same theme. We’re all taking new members.
If you’re interested in opening the next branch, we want to hear from you. We love passionate, funny, and creative foodies who know or want to learn a lot about wine.
We’ve visited vineyards and wineries across the Hudson Valley and Virginia, where we tasted local wines, learned about the history of American wines, and met with winemakers.
We’re regular visitors to industry events, like regional tastings at the Hungarian Embassy in Dublin and the Fête des Vendanges, an annual festival celebrating the final remaining winery in Paris.
My personal research has taken me to wineries in Alsace, Burgundy, and Cannes in France, and to settlement wineries in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Upcoming trips will include Wicklow Winery and tasting rooms in Ireland and Madrid. Reach out if you want to help or join us in our next trip.
WINERY VISITS
SALON DES VINS
In the style of 19th century Parisian salons, CWC New York came together in Spring 2023 to share their writing, art, and other creative projects. The salon featured writers, visual artists, and (as always) wine lovers to celebrate our art and the connection between literature and oenology.
This is just the beginning of a salon tradition at CWC. More salons and other creative ventures to come across chapters.
Thank you to visual director Hadley Crow for promotional materials.
